Hi all! I’m a photographer based in Beckenham and apart from being a now popular family photographer, I’ve also photographed a lot of wed
I’m a Wedding photographer in Beckenham and even though I generally get hired to capture weddings in Bromley and around Kent, I had the opportunity to cover ceremonies which actually took place in Beckenham.
BECKENHAM WEDDING VENUES
Specifically I’m talking about Beckenham Methodist Church, Bromley Road and and S. George’s Church.
In the first instance I captured Sophie and Ben’s special day. I first went to Sophie’s home in Beckenham to photograph her and the bridesmaids getting ready and then I moved to Beckenham Methodist Church to get Ben and his groomsmen while waiting for the start of the ceremony and Sophie’s entrance in the church. Once thing I’ve noticed is that even though the preparation starts at least 2 hours before the ceremony, everything happens so quickly that before you know it, it’s already time to pack my stuff and go and get ready at the church.
The ceremony was fairly long and It was pleasant hearing a lot of guests singing in the church, including the couple. It’s something not very common nowadays, and it makes it very traditional.
The second venue, S. George’s Church, was the one chosen by Sarah and Matthew. Unfortunately photography wasn’t allowed during the ceremony but i did manage to take beautiful shots right before and after. The party then moved to Bromley Court Hotel for their wedding reception which was conveniently close.
Beckenham documentary photographer
As you’ll see from my photography, I’s very unlikely for me to pose people. I might give some direction to the couple but that’s it. Posing is not part of my concept of photography as it distorts reality, it’s not purely authentic for me. And I also don’t like it.
FOR ALL THE COUPLES
There is something about photography that I think it’s important for you to consider. Photography is the tool that will allow you to re-live your wedding day in years to come. Time goes fast and memories too. Faster than you expect! The photographer you choose, will be the one representing your memories, in the way he/she sees them so, take your time and do a deep research on who and how you want your day to be remembered. Is it with with staged photographs? Is it with people always looking at the camera and with the smile on their face? Or is it with people having fun in a sort of reportage way? With people not even caring about being photographed? Maybe looking at some photos will give you more inspiration.
That’s all for now!
