Portrait shot during golden hour at the Oak Tree Barn in Tonbridge
And this time I became a Tonbridge Wedding photographer and I loved every bit!

I was lucky to photograph the wedding of the beautiful Trinny and Leo at  Oak Tree Barn in Tonbridge. The venue is a true hidden gem for couples looking for a wedding venue that blends rustic charm with intimate elegance.

The whole experience was nothing short of magical. Here a bit more of the day and the venue.

The Oak Tree Barn

The first thing that strikes you about Oak Tree Barn is its warm, inviting atmosphere.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the venue provides an idyllic backdrop for stunning photos. The barn itself, with its exposed beams and natural light, creates a perfect setting that feels both cozy and sophisticated. From the confetti to the first dance, every moment was beautifully enhanced by the barn’s character.

One of the standout features is the seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. This flexibility allowed me to capture spontaneous moments in the lush gardens as well as the ones inside the barn. The staff at Oak Tree Barn were attentive and genuinely passionate about ensuring everything ran smoothly—a big plus for both couples and photographers!

Preparation and Ceremony

The preparation of the bride took place in her beautiful house in Sevenoaks surrounded by her sister, friends and her mother and aunt plus of course the make up artists, hairdressers (Vanity London Hair and Beauty) , photographer (Piccolino Weddings, me!)  and the videographer (Blocweddings, Cartlonfilms) . It’s so special to witness these moments where the excitement is in the air! I love photographing the bride getting ready as it’s a way for me to warm up and get creative since I have time and I can try and experiment compositions. I also like to spend some time with the bride and the people surrounding her (usually mum, sisters and close friends) .  This way, the bride and the bridal party can get familiar with me and get used to being photographed.

The second place we moved to was where the ceremony took place, at St Nicholas Church Sevenoaks.

This is the bit where I start getting “nervous” as I really want to nail every shot but my movements are limited to a specific area (I don’t want to move around too much as I have full respect for the ceremony! The light can be unpredictable and I tend not to to use flash as it could be disruptive and impact romantic moments…

There were a lot of people attending and as usual, after the ceremony and the hugs we did our ritual group shots in front of the church.

RECEPTION AT THE OAK TREE BARN

After the family group shots we then reached  the beautiful Oak Tree Barn where we spent the rest of the wedding day.

There was a lot of variation since the place offers beautiful scenery, The countryside at dawn, the stable barn itself, the oak tree in the heart of it, the country house and acres of green space! Just plenty of opportunities and a feel of peace and beauty at the same time. Check out their website to see what they offer! There

For couples looking for a venue that promises memorable photos and an intimate ambiance, Oak Tree Barn is an outstanding choice. It’s a place where moments turn into cherished memories, perfectly framed by nature and the love shared between family and friends.
